About Mura Miniatures

My name is Jonas Svensson and the miniature hobby has been with me in one way or another since I was born. Some years ago I went back into the hobby after a long break, and it was largely though my project of creating a 28mm scale Samurai army. Now, almost 4 years later, I feel like there are some things that I've picked up and that I'd like to share.
Mura Miniatures is the next step in my fascination with building terrain. I started to collect a 6mm Samurai army and found out that there are almost no available options for Asian 6mm terrain. Scratch-building individual houses works fine for 28mm, but to get the most of the small scale I wanted a lot of houses. Which required making a bunch of models and casting them in resin. As I put pictures of my project online I got replies from other wargamers who were struggling with the same dirth of Asian terrain, and so the idea started of making a miniature company to share the results with others.
My plans for Mura Miniatures is to make the most extensive Japanese Medieval 6mm terrain range... in the world. When this lofty goal is attained, I plan to expand in two directions: more 6mm models from other regions, and Japanese models of 15mm and 28mm. Basically I will make stuff I like to build or that I want to use in my own wargames, and I love Asian architecture.
My first set of models are based on Japanese historical architecture books, contemporary paintings and my own travels from fishermen's barracks in Hokkaido to the elaborate shrines at Nikko. While I take some freedoms to make the buildings possible to build and cast, my main aim is for a historically accurate look.
Mura Miniatures is located in Lund in southern Sweden, making it possibly the only existing Swedish wargame miniature company today.
