The miniature buildings sold by Mura Miniatures are made out of polyurethane resin. If you are new to handling resin, please take a look at the resin tutorial in our tutorial section.

The miniatures are sold in two versions: "raw" and "painted". Mura Miniatures is a very new casting venture. We do not have professional equipment to completely remove bubbles in the resin during the casting process. This is the condition of casts that we sell as "raw", and they usually require some skill in filling in holes with kneadatite ("green stuff), milliput or a similar product. This is the version recommended for the hobbyist who wants to paint the terrain piece themselves.

The second version, "painted", is a completely finished product. We will fill in any holes left after bubbles, prime the model, paint it, and finally coat it with a coat of gloss varnish for protection followed by matte varnish to remove the glossy sheen of the first varnish. This is the version recommended for the collector or the gamer who wants to just pick the model out of the package and pluck it down on the tabletop.

This is a range of 6mm scale buildings. These represent buildings that could be found in Japan between the 15th and 17th Century. However, many of then would not be out of place in an earlier period, and similar houses were common outside the big cities up until WW2.

The products are shown from different angles, as well as with size comparison pictures starring miniatures from the excellent Baccus 6mm range.
